SGS Product Advantages

SGS’s fault indicators are manufactured in Dallas, TX, and qualified Buy American. We have been in business for more than 10 years and service 150+ customers across the United States. The devices have a 5-year manufacturer warranty, and are designed for decades of field life. We are committed to providing our customers with the most reliable American-made product that enables utilities to reliably identify and fix faults quicker and easier.

Materials

The materials and batteries used in SGS products have been thoroughly reviewed, and the choices were made based on quality over cost. The stainless steel that we use is a special molybdenum grade stainless steel that is very corrosion resistant. The plastics that we do use are UV resistant, making the devices exceptionally durable and immune to the environment.

Processing

SGS faulted circuit indicator units come with an MCU on their circuit board that provides the devices with an unprecedented amount of processing power. With the ability to store and process large volumes of data the devices are capable of producing highly accurate and reliable insights into different types of events on the line.

Variety of Use Cases

Whether it’s straight out the substation or a rural single feeder power line, your lineman won’t have to switch between the devices they install. The same overhead unit will work equally and reliably in both environments. The same is true for the underground unit. The devices can be installed on a line that’s heavily loaded with high amperage, or an erratic current signature in an industrial facility, as well as in a residential neighborhood with much lower loads.

Manufacturing

SGS devices are all designed in their entirety here in the US and the majority of the value-added manufacturing is done domestically in Dallas, TX. This includes the manufacturing of the printed circuit board, steelwork, plastic molding, and product assembly. As we streamline our production even further we’re aiming to achieve end-to-end domestic production while maintaining competitive pricing.
